Description
Highly pictorial 19th century chromolithographed trade card of J. G. Pluys-Costermans, with four circular panels depicting furniture and chocolate making in decorative cartouches. Trader details in elaborate frame in centre of card, with fruit and shell decoration. Lion's head at bottom of frame and three putti with water jugs above. Buildings depicted in background. Trader details in a variety of typefaces with decorative flourishes. Enamelled card or carte porcelaine with two tone coloured inks in pinks and greens. Remains of previous blue paper mount and glue present on reverse.
