Description
Highly pictorial 19th century chromolithographed trade card of de Landtsheer-Duez depicting various hanging light fittings, gas lamps, candlesticks, crucifix and urns in multi tone orange, purple and blue ink. Mary Magdalene with Christ in arms and winged angels at top of card. Trader details in a variety of typefaces with decorative flourishes. Enamelled card or carte porcelaine.
French transcription: Ancienne maison J. P. Masquilier. DE LANDTSHEER-DUEZ. Place du Marais, No. 18, près le pont de la tour, dite (Gurenbrugge.) Gand. Fabrique d'ornemens d'Eglise en plaque d'ou en d'argenz, argent neuf, Similov, cuivre rouge et jaune. Loue lustres, branches, quinquets, tous les article d'illumination en d'eclairage. Lampes, quinquets dits Carcels, Solaire, moderateur, Simule-gaz & a Serres, mêches & huile à quinquets. Bougies Veilleuses. Objets de cuisine et filtre pr. épuieu l'eau. Zinc, Cuivre en feu blanc en feuilles. Etain en blocs. Lithe de F. & E. Gyselynck à Gand. F G k fecit.
English translation: Formerly House of J. P. Masquilier. DE LANDTSHEER-DUEZ. Place du Marais, No. 18, near the tower bridge, known as (Gurenbrugge.) Ghent. Makers of Church ornaments in silver or silver plate, new silver, Similov [sic], red and yellow copper. Hire chandeliers, branches, quinquets [historic oil lamps], all items of illumination and lighting. Lamps, lamps known as Carcels, Solar, moderator, simulated gas & greenhouses lamps, wicks & oil for lamps. Night candles. Kitchen objects and filtration for used water. Zinc, white fired copper in sheets. Tin in blocks. Lithography by F. & E. Gyselynck in Ghent.
