Description

Pictorial late 18th century engraved trade card of Turner, Abbott and Newbury with Royal Coat of Arms of the Prince of Wales and motto 'Ich Dien' at top of card. Trader details in a variety of typefaces with decorative flourishes. Further details of trader's services in French on reverse.


Transcription of obverse: TURNER, ABBOTT AND NEWBURY, POTTERS to His ROYAL HIGHNESS the PRINCE of WALES, at their Warehouse for Staffordshire ware. CHINA & GLASS, No 82 Fleet Street, London. where they have a Manufactory for Enamelling & Gilding their ware with Coats of Arms, Crests, Cyphers, Borders, or any other device. Ils ont etabli une Manufacture a Londres pour émailler leur Potier, ce que les met en état de finir en peu de Jours quelque nombre que se soit de services de Table, et de Desserts, avec des Armes, des Cimiers, des Chiffres ou des Bordures à fantaisie, de quelque forme, ou de quelque couleur que ce soit.


English translation of reverse: At this Royal shop you will find the largest variety of porcelain of different colors, and earthenware, run by Turner, Abbott and Newbury, Potters to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, No 82 Fleet Street. They established a Manufactory in London to enamel their pottery, which enables them to finish in a few days any number of table and dessert services, with coats of arms, crests, figures or borders. as you wish, in any shape or color.
