Description

Highly pictorial 19th century engraved trade card of Hancock with large image of shop front filling card, with double lined border. Wares are displayed in each pane of windows, with a large lamp on decorative metal bracket above the door. Four figures visible inside through the doorway, a young boy with cap leaving the shop, a seated woman with bonnett and umbrella and two figures with hats in the distance. On a ledge above the roof is a display of large decorative metalware urns, jugs and candlesticks, with trader details inscribed on a metal tag.
