Description

Highly pictorial 19th century engraved trade card of George Goddard on green pasteboard, depicting curtained stage with classical female figure in foreground driving horses from a carriage and array of fine crockery, vases and candlesticks at either side. Reverse of card details range of services and wares.


Transcription of obverse: GEORGE GODDARD, 18 YEARS WITH THE LATE Messrs HOPGOOD & SURMAN, Goldsmith &c. Estab. 1807. 202, BISHOPSGATE STREET, E.C. PLATE AND CUTLERY LENT ON HIRE.


Transcription of reverse: A CHOICE SELECTION OF WEDDING, CHRISTENING, AND BIRTHDAY PRESENTS IN SILVER, ELECTRO-PLATE, AND JEWELLERY. WATCHES CLEANED AND REPAIRED. ENGRAVING IN ALL ITS BRANCHES.
