Description

Large collection of satires, ballads, and songs (with a few pieces in prose), apparently compiled by members of the Smyth family of Heath, near Wakefield, West Yorkshire. At least the first 260 pp. were written before 1750.


Bound in 18th-century panelled calf, lettered XXVI and A.BP MARGETSON WILL & MISCELL: POEMS. Index on pp.345-50, compiled by a few of the writers of the book, ceases with p.300. With bookplate of John Smyth of Heath.
