Description
1 manuscript and 1 typescript carbon copy with manuscript pages of Arp (London: Thames and Hudson, 1968), published in the United States as The Art of Jean Arp (New York: Abrams, 1968).
1 file contains correspondence relating to Arp including 1 letter from Hans Richter, who agrees with Read that Arp was 'a great & original poet' and 2 letters from Marguerite Arp. The file also includes letters from Frederick Wight, the Director of UCLA Galleries who organised the memorial exhibition of Arp there in 1968, and correspondence with staff at Thames and Hudson.
Included in the correspondence file is a single page of manuscript prose. It begins 'Among the motley crowd of people I have met during my life S.T. is the most gracious, the most serene figure of all.' It is unclear if this is connected to Arp.
