Description

Five substantial letters addressed to Read covering a range of subjects including plagiarism of Nicholson's work, Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, his own work, studio at St Ives, Nicholson's response to Read's work, particularly Contrary Experience, literature, particularly Sterne, dealings with Thames and Hudson, gifts to the Tate, other artists including Picasso - Guernica, 'New' Tate Trustees and animals amongst other topics, Letters are not dated, but presumably post 1965. Also includes a substantial file of photocopied letters (presumably duplicates of letters held at the University of Victoria).
