Description

This file contains 4 warm and affectionate letters to Herbert Read from Paul Horgan, 3 written on the headed paper of Wesleyan University Center for Advanced Studies, and 1 with the University Club, New York letterhead, with 'as from CAS' typed beneath.

Letters regard family news and arrangements for Read's accommodation in Connecticut. He was Fellow at the Center during 1964 - 1965. Horgan also offers an enthusiastic review of The Green Child.

Included in the file is a booklet handmade by Horgan 'To amuse Ludo and Herbert homeward bound June 1964.' The booklet, titled 'Candidates for a Center' includes caricatures by Horgan.

The final letter relates to a well-received proposal from Herbert Read that Allen Tate be made a fellow of the Center of Advanced Studies.
