Description

This file contains3 letters to Herbert Read from Jean Helion.

The first letter thanks Read for the news that one of Helion's works have been purchased by the Tate (Read was a Trustee of the Tate at this point).

Later letters refer to the omission of Helion from Read's Histoire de la Peinture Moderne, an omission which has made him 'sad, very sad, but not mad, in 1965.'
