Description
This file contains 2 letters, 1 postcard and 1 print signed to Herbert Read from Geoffrey Grigson.
Grigson's letters refer to an edition of Clere Parson's poems that he is hoping to arrange for publication, and are full of family news. He writes of the 'very good influence on all our lives' of Ben Nicholson, mentioning 'I write from a white kitchen in a white home.'
Having recently received a newly formatted edition of New Verse Grigson also recalls soliciting Read for a submission for the first edition, and also the poem about Ludo [Margaret Read] playing the viola, which was published in the second edition.
Includes a print of A Kentish Hop Garden by Samuel Palmer, sent from Grigson, Bertschy (Berta Emma Kunert, Grigson's second wife), and Caroline (Grigson's daughter).
