Description

This file includes 2 signed typescript letters to Herbert Read from the Shmuel B'ari, the Managing Editor of New Outlook Middle East Monthly, based in Tel Aviv. 1 carbon copy response from Read is typed on the verso of the letter dated 10 March 1966. The letters regard the establishment of a Martin Buber Fund for Jewish-Arab Understanding, as supported by the Buber family. B'ari advises Read that a separate organisation founded by Camille Honig, called the International Martin Buber Society is unknown to the Buber family, and that Honig may be a 'crackpot'. Read agrees he will immediately ask to have his name withdrawn from the sponsors of the latter society.
