Description
This file contains 18 signed typescript and 3 manuscript letters from Montgomery Belgion to Herbert Read. 1 letter from the literary agent Hanns Fischer to Read, requesting a few words to publicise Belgion's book 'Megalopolitics', and a draft manuscript response from Read are also included in the file, as is a photocopy of a review by Belgion (of Fossil Monarchies by Edmond Taylor) published in Royinform. Letters include comments on Read's writing as well as Belgion's own, with a mixture of literary and family news. Also included in the file is a typescript synopsis and main chapter headings for Belgion's book "The Worship of Quantity: a Study of Megalopolitics", 3 ff. No correspondence is attached, but the typescript was filed with correspondence A-B on arrival at Special Collections.
