The series is arranged alphabetically by the surname of the sender where possible and includes letters from significant cultural figures such as the art historians Quentin Bell, Anthony Blunt and Kenneth Clark and the artists Reg Butler, William Coldstream, Hubert Dalwood, Robin Darwin, Alan Davie, Richard Demarco, Terry Frost, Naum Gabo, Percy Horton, Oskar Kokoschka, David Kwok, John Piper, Stanley Spencer and Charles Wheeler and the poets James Kirkup and Ezra Pound, alongside many others.
