The file includes 5 signed typescript letters to Herbert Read from Ralph Schoenman, Director of the Bertrand Russell Peace Foundation, dated 10 Aug 1962 – 16 Oct 1965, 5ff. The file also contains 2 carbon copy replies from Herbert Read, 2ff. The letters discuss a potential essay contribution by Read to a new anthology titled ‘The Anthology of Tributes to Lord Russell’, designed to pay tribute to Bertrand Russell in his ninety-first year.
The file also includes 3 signed typescript letters to Herbert Read from Bertrand Russell, dated 12 May 1964 – 16 Nov 1967, 5ff. 2 carbon copy replies from Herbert Read can be found on verso, 2ff.
