B. Yeats’, ‘Appreciation of Carlo Carra’, and ‘Echoes of My Life’.


The file contains 1 signed typescript letter to Herbert Read from Barry Sullivan, dated 10 Dec 1959, 1f, asking Read to take part in a programme about Henry Moore. Read accepts in a carbon copy response, dated 14 Dec 1959.


The file also includes 1 typescript transcript of a telephone conversation between Herbert Read and Basil Taylor, art historian, dated 26 Aug 1957, 15ff and 1 typescript script from ‘The State and the Fine Arts’ programme, dated 25 Oct 1957, 15ff. Both conversations discuss government and local authority support and funding for the fine arts in Great Britain.
