Description
A collection of material relating to members of the Abercrombie Family, originally from Cheshire. The collection consists of groups of material from the siblings and father of Lascelles Abercrombie.
The collection includes diaries, photographs, letters, sketches, financial records, notes and a range of associated material belonging to and created by various members of the family.
Material is arranged in series by family groups or individuals. There are series relating to Sir Kingsmill James, Lady Helen (née Abercrombie) and Esme Key; Colonel Charles Murray and Dollie (née Riley) Abercrombie; Mary Neill (née Abercrombie) and William Abercrombie.

Provenance
The collection was donated to Special Collections in 2015 by Jeffrey Cooper, grandson of Lascelles Abercrombie.
A series of books belonging to Lascelles Abercrombie donated with this collection have been catalogued with the 'Manuscripts BC MS 20c Abercrombie' book collection
A group of items belonging to Patricia Barnes (née Abercrombie) included in this donation has since been incorporated with [MS 2238 ] Sir Denis and Lady Patricia Barnes (née Abercrombie) Archive.
