Description
The letters of 1878 are addressed to Stoker at Dublin. They provide an interesting souvenir of what was to prove a memorable association between the two men. The letter of 1879 is written in pencil and posted at Lisbon from the Yacht Walrus where Irving was on a pleasure trip with the yachting party of the Baroness Burdett Coutts. This letter refers to an enclosure for Ellen Terry - presumably regarding the cheque for £3,572. The letter of 1880 refers to an impending visit to Stoker by Onslow Ford. The letter forms the basis of an interesting chapter in Stoker's "Reminiscences". More information on the letters can be found inside the envelope enclosing the letters.
