Binding
Housed in a Torah mantle made out of gold-coloured patterned silk with metal embroidery around the upper opening. According to Davis, Handlist 164 (Leeds, 2005), no. 257, the item was "wrapped in a decorated green and yellow patterned strip of cloth with two green ribbons attached to one end for tying up the scroll"; this "strip" (Torah Wimple?) is missing as of 27/02/2020.
Scribal information
Except for membrane [5] (see above description), the whole scroll was most likely written by one professional hand; according to Roth, “Catalogue”, in Alexander Marx: Jubilee Volume, vol. 1 (New York, 1950), no. 257, it was produced in the German lands.
