Description

Autograph letter, begins 'Hamerton's 15/- applies undoubtedly to one page'.

WMR discusses writing style and is pleased by JLT's views on the subject. 'I think it an unanswerable truth that whatever constitutes the strong idiosyncracy of a man constitutes also the style (if that is genuine at all) of the writer; that to object to a style's being peculiar is really to object to a man's having a deal of character along with sincerity; & that therefore it is far better a style shd be strong to the extent of peculiarity tha indistinctive.'
