Description

Autograph letter and envelope. Letter begins, 'I have been so much engaged of late at home'.

WMR has received a promotion at work.

He is unsure about the Manchester Guardian article mentioned by JLT, but refers to earlier articles by Tom Taylor written in 1857.

WMR's Life of Shelley is complete, and he has written on Byron, Wordsworth and Scott. He suggests the Slade Professorship at Oxford as a possibility for JLT, and has mentioned it to Vernon Lushington.
