Description

A length of printed satin cotton designed for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, depicting a royal lion and unicorn crest with crown and ER monogram in the central cartouche. A black continuous linear scrolled line is used for the design with repeat scrolled borders. Colour is added beneath the design in organic blocks of turquoise, red and yellow. There are four complete repeats of the design.
