Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying 10 annotated photomicrographs of lengths and cross sections of vegetable fibres associated with textiles. Top row: Ramie: ends and typical fibres, stained with Herzberg's solution. Mounted in Euparal X800.
Middle row: Ramie: typical fibres, stained with Herzberg's solution. Mounted in Euparal X800.
Bottom row: Ramie: i. hand cut sections stained with Delafield's Haematoxylin X800; ii. chemical sections X400. Nettle: cross-sections, chemical sections X400.
