Description

Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying 9 annotated samples of dyed linen finish cottons for book cloths. The top row shows the stages of finish and dyeing: grey, bleached, caledon brilliant blue R, finished (face and reverse). The bottom row shows 5 samples of different qualities in yellow, orange, rust, blue and green. Each of these samples in the bottom row shows both face and reverse. Samples are glued to apertures.


The yellow sample has come loose.
