Description

Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying 5 annotated samples of floral and foliate pattern damasks using different combinations of vat dyed yarns. Sample 1. organzine and lace cotton (light brown); 2. Tussah spun silk (undyed - beige in colour); 3. mercerised and lace cotton (pale gold); 4. organzine and spun silk (blue); 5. mercerised cotton and worsted (light green). Samples are glued and taped to apertures.
