Description
Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying 4 annotated samples of dyed woven textiles by Sundour. Sample 1. shows a vat dyed spun cotton and chenille brocade in intense purple, red, black and green against a beige background. Sample 2. shows a vat dyed, cotton and mercerised cotton (warp) and viscose silk and cotton chenille (weft) stylised foliate pattern with raised contouring. Samples 3 and 4 show two types of damask: sample 3. a modern abstract design in blue and browns using viscose sik and knop cotton, and sample 4. a tradional damask pattern in dark green using viscose silk and mercerised cotton. Samples are glued to apertures.
