Description
Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying 8 annotated samples of dyed damasks, all with abstract patterns. Samples 1 - 4 show vat dyed damasks: Sample 1. 3/4 bleached line and tow linen; 2. mercerised and dyed (brown); 3. 3/4 bleached line and worsted. 4. dyed (brown). Samples 5 - 8 show yarn dyed damasks. Sample 5. worsted (reddish brown and dark green); 6. worsted and mercerised cotton (beiges and brown); 7. tuffle roving and mercerised cotton (blue and beige); 8. mercerised cotton and linen (blue and silvery beige). Samples are glued to apertures.
