Description
Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying 7 annotated samples of vat dyed patterned textiles. From top left:
1. Reversible. The fabric in two parts showing front and back. Foliate pattern in brown, red and mustard.
2. Stylised flowers against a green lozenge background.
3. Daisies and other flowers crowded against a grass-filled background.
4. Stylised outlined flowes and leaves against a plain background.
lower section entitled 'Cotton and Viscose Silk'
5 and 6. Slub satin. Abstract pattern in browns and cream.
7. Weave pattern in yellow, orange and purple.
Samples are glued to apertures.
