Description
Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying eight annotated samples of dyed textiles.
Section 1: Downproof Eiderdown Lining (cotton) in different stages of preparation:
i. grey
ii. desize (sour in soda ash), sour (pad in colloidal paraffin wax), Calender heavily
iii. - vi lime boil, sour, soda ash boil, chemic, soda ash boil, chemic, sour, dyed with direct dye, finish as above
Section 2: Check shirting for Export to S. America
i. grey vat dye check
ii. soda ash, chemic, soda ash scald, chemic, sour, backfill plus direct dye, calender
