Description

Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying six annotated samples of dyed cambric cottons in different stages of preparation. The samples are annotated thus: (from top left) Grey; Circulation 2 hrs and lime boil 6 hours at 20 lbs pressure (with red stripe); sour; 1st soda ash boil 1st chemic; 2nd soda ash boil 2nd chemic and sour; finished (red stripes and brown stripe).

Samples are glued to apertures.
