Description

Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying 8 annotated samples of dyed cellulose acetate and viscose artificial silk. Samples are glued to apertures.

Samples 1 - 3 Piece dyed with Celatine and Direct Dyes in Two Baths. (two floral and one geometric pattern).

Samples 4 - 5 Partially Delustred. (floral pattern)

Samples 6 - 8 Viscose Warp and Cotton Weft Casement Cloth. Showing the stages of preparation: loom state; prepared and bleached; dyed on the jigger with vat dyes.
