Description

Partly worked model for an embroidered ration book case. Mostly worked in cross stitch. The corner is shown with striped edging. The central geometric pattern is based on pattern printed in Peter Quentel's 1527-1529 'Musterbuch für Ornamente und Stickmuster' (Sample book for ornaments and embroidery designs). A facsimilie edition was published in 1882 under the title 'New Little Pattern Book'. Plate 46 no. 2.
