Description

Canvas partly worked embroidery model for a bag. Geometric design worked in coloured wools in cross stitch on double threaded cotton canvas.


The design is based on pattern printed in Peter Quentel's 1527 'Musterbuch für Ornamente und Stickmuster' (Sample book for ornaments and embroidery designs). A facsimilie edition was published in 1882 under the title 'New Little Pattern Book'.
