Description

A mau ana (literal: 'little blanket') shoulder cloth warp ikat. The piece consists of two mirror image panels, both of which contain three large flowers with leaves. The main part of the piece is coloured pale red and undyed white, with narrow bands on the warp edges in yellow, pink and green and fringing.

In Mollo it is the bride to be who weaves shawls ready to present to the visitors from the groom's family.
