Length of black and white printed textile, featuring a regular repeat pattern of flat-fish, with four-fold rotational symmetry.
Created as part of series produced for the exhibition 'In Black and White. A Selection of Counterchange and Other Patterns' (1995) University Gallery, University of Leeds., and publication M.A. Hann and X. Lin 'Symmetry in Regular Repeating Patterns' (1995). Referenced in publication as Figure 3. Class p4'g'm. Described as "an all-over pattern consisting of a square lattice type unit cell, generated by reflection in the sides of an isoceles triangle and the highest order of rotation is four. Class p4gm all-over patterns have a square lattice type unit cell and a highest order of rotation of four. Each corner of the cell unit is on a four-fold center of rotation. Reflection axes intersect at right angles on two-fold centres of rotation positioned at the mid-points of each side of the unit cell."
