Description

This book contains handwritten notes and samples of dyed cotton. The first 10 pages are empty and contain no samples, however, they are numbered which might indicate that loose samples used to be included within these first pages of the book. The pages in the middle are empty. When turning the book upside down and reading from the back, we can discover handwritten notes from 1847. A loose note typed with a typewriter reads: '13th March, 1945. These pattern books belonged to the greatgrandfather of Mr. John H. Driver who worked for Peel at Foxhill Bank Oswaldtwistle.' This side of the book begins with instructions for black and purples dyes.
