Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying 9 annotated photomicrographs of lengths and cross sections of silk fibres.

Top row: cultivated silk: i. raw fibres, ii. degummed iii. raw cross sections (two images placed together)

Middle row: i. cultivated silk, degummed and 'lousy' fibres X200, ii. Tussah silk, raw cross sections from cocoon

Bottom row: Tussah silk: i. degummed, ii. raw fibres (two lengths placed together), iii. degummed (three lengths).
