Description

Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying 9 annotated photomicrographs of lengths and cross sections of cotton fibres. The top two rows stained with Herzberg's solution and mounted in Euparal. Top row: Raw Sakellaridis Egyptian: X200, X400, X800 (4 lengths shown).

Middle row: Mercerised Sakellarisis Egyptian: X200, X400, X800 (4 lengths shown).

Bottom row: unstained. i and ii. Sakellaridis Egyptian, raw X400 and mercerised X400. iii. treated with Cuprammonium X400.
