Description
Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying ten annotated samples of dyed linens of different types of weave. Samples are glued to apertures.
Three rows.
Row 1.
i. Knop weave. Loom state.
ii. Knop weave. Alkali boiled, soured, finished.
iii. Tweed suiting. Azoic red effect.
Row 2.
i. White and grey slub yarns.
ii. vat dyed upholstery (yellow)
iii. looom state 3/4 white 42"
iv. mercerised to 36" vat dyed, bettled finished. (green)
Row 3. Hollands.
i. loom state
ii. alkali boiled, dyed sumach and iron
iii. direct dye.
