Description

Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying eleven annotated samples of dyed cotton poplin shirting. Samples are glued to apertures.


Apertures: 1. Loom state; 2.singed; 3. Desized and mercerised ; 4. bleached; 5. finished and shrunk.


A further 6 small apertures with examples of designs - variants of blue and white check and stripes.
