Description

Cream museum exhibit card from the Department of Colour Chemistry, displaying 12 annotated samples of warp satin cotton textiles in different stages of finish and types of shade. The samples are annotated thus (from top left):

1. Loom State;

2. Singed;

3. Kier Boiled;

4. Mercerised and Bleached;

5. Dyed with Direct Dyes;

6. Finished;

The remaining 6 samples show types of shades.


Samples are glued to apertures.
