Description

This item has been made up fro two kerchief ends sewn together to form a single piece of fabric. It is embroidered with border patterns composed of four isolated sprays of flowers in pots, set vertically side by side. The stitch techniques used include double darning stitch, fishbone stitch and double running stitch. The patterns, techniques and use of metallic yarn suggest a Turkish influence, which indicates that this item may have come from Turkey or a nearby region such as north Syria or the northern Greek islands.
