Description

3 objects brought back from Germany by Cyril Tom Kiddle: brass candlestick made from shell base; paper knife made from aircraft propellor; photgraph in frame.

Biography or history

Cyril Kiddle (1897-1982) saw service in France and Germany as a Private in military transport. Stationed in Cologne as part of army of occupation 1918 to 1919, which is where he acquired the objects.

Provenance

Cyril Tom Kiddle gave the objects to Dr. Josephine Kiddle, who bequeathed them to the Liddle Collection, having already donated a bayonet instruction manual to Peter Liddle.
