Description
Certificates of Marjorie Mary Bradley [née Readman] for medical training at various institutions. Includes:
Certificate from the Joint Matriculation Board for exemption from the matriculation examination at the University of Leeds (9 Feb 1920), attached to a certificate from the Ministry of Health for qualification in the practice and principles of vaccination (1926);
Certificate from the General Medical Council for registration as a medical student (13 May 1920);
Certificate from the Royal College of Surgeons for admission to membership (12 May 1927);
Certificate from the Royal College of Physicians for a licence to practise Medicine, Surgery and Midwifery (28 Apr 1927);
Degree certificate from the University of Leeds for a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (4 Jul 1927);
Certificate from the Lying-in Hospital, Dublin (12 Sep 1928);
Public Notice from the Guardians of the Poor of the Sculcoates Union, announcing the appointment of Mary Readman as Public Vaccinator for No. 2 District, the parishes of Cottingham. Haltemprice, Willerby (Mar 1930);
and a General Medical Council certificate of change of surname [to Bradley] in the Medical Register (22 Jul 1937).
The certificates are accompanied by a letter and note from W.K.J. Walls regarding the accession.
Biography or history
Marjorie Mary Readman was a student at the Leeds School of Medicine in the 1920s. She was appointed to the role of Public Vaccinator for the parishes of Cottingham, Haltemprice, Willerby, No. 2 District for Sculcoates Union in March 1930.
