Contains four volumes of lecture notes prepared as a student at the Leeds School of Medicine; two cash books, presumably for the surgical practice of Drs Begg and Mellis of Leeds; and two folders of papers, including lecture notes, trade literature from drug manufacturers, correspondence and other papers.



Paper with items in the box, with annotation: "Papers from collection of bks purchased by Dr Smith" with Dr Smith's address and "Dr Mellis" at the top.

Biography or history

George Pickard Mellis entered the Leeds School of Medicine in 1907 and graduated M.B., Ch.B., in 1912.
