Consists of minutes and rules of the Hey Society.

Biography or history

The Hey Society was established on 1 November 1846 at a meeting held at the Leeds Public Dispensary. The founding members were Thomas Scattergood, J. Bywater, Joseph Carter, Robert Rayner, Claudius Galen Wheelhouse and G.R. Schofield. The society was for a small group of medical students, with the aim of the discussion of medical and surgical topics.
