The collection contains notes on ancient Egyptian script, Icelandic, and other topics including algebra and royal geneaology. There is a draft translation of Kristni saga labelled 'for the printer'.

The collections also includes a draft of a novel about a character called Walter Darnley.

Biography or history

Robert Aspin Freeman, fl.1875-1943, was an inspector of schools in Leeds. He was also a linguist and writer on languages, with particular interests in Icelandic and Egyptian languages and scripts.
