Biography or history

Martha Whitelock was the daughter of Isaac Whitelock of Sheepscar, Leeds. She attended Kemplay's Academy for Ladies, in Alfred St. off Boar Lane in Leeds. On 16 February 1814 she married Thomas Benson Pease. They had 1 son and 5 daughters, including Hannah Pease, who married Robert Lawson Ford, solicitor, of Adel Grange, Leeds, in 1838. Their son, John Rawlinson Ford was born 29 March 1844. He was also a solicitor and was awarded an honorary LL.D (Leeds) in 1919.
