Inscription in red ink manuscript on the title page, indistinct but for a date of 1534 and the monogram: SL.
Capital strokes and underlinings in red on the title page.
Major initials supplied in red, some with decoration extending into the margins.
Some worm damage.
Bindings
Binding of parchment over pasteboard. The covers are fastened shut with two parchment thongs which tuck into tabs on the upper cover and are held in place by round metal bosses on the lower cover. Written directly onto the upper part of the smooth spine in black ink manuscript is the author's name: R. Holkot. Written at the base of the spine in the same hand: Hagenau, H. Gran. 1494. Watermark on the title page of a bull with horns and a staff surmounted by a Tau cross. Size: 290 x 215mm. Leaf size: 280 x 200mm.

Inscription in faded ink manuscript at the head of A2r, mostly indistinct but containing the words: S. Michaelis Anh:.
Bookplate on the front pastedown: ad Bibliothecam J.J. Ign. Döllinger. The book was owned by the German theologian Johann Joseph Ignaz von Döllinger (1799-1890).
Coloured armorial bookplate of Sir Edward Allen Brotherton on the front free endpaper. The book was most likely acquired before 17 June 1929 when Brotherton was created Baron Brotherton of Wakefield.
