Contains 346 numbered invoices arranged in chronological order in 13 files, separated into each month. The invoices are for various personal and professional goods and services, including receipts household items, bills and decorating; stationary orders; orders for medical publications; car insurance and repairs; subscriptions to various newspapers and journals; membership of professional organisations; and orders for medical equipment.


The files include:

• a receipt for a William Hey silver medal, 26 Mar 1924 [Item no. 3]


• Invoices from C.F. Thackray, wholesale chemists of Leeds, for surgical instruments, chemicals, and equipment [Item nos: 9-10, 38-39, 61, 88-90, 123-124, 140-141, 182-183, 222-223, 239, 296-297, 313, 337]


• Two invoices from Ethel M. Wright: one for 24 drawings of sections of pyloric veins, 5 drawings of sutures of incisions, 6 line drawings of gastrectomy, 1 April 1924 [Item no.17] and another for 48 drawings, 1 April 1925 [Item no. 345]


• Anaesthetics receipts for operations conducted; these contain a table with the date of operation, the patient name, the type of operation, and the cost [Item nos: 35, 73, 112, 136, 146-146]


• Receipt from Boots, the chemist, for goods, 24 May 1924 [Item no.48]


• Receipts from Down Brothers Ltd, surgical instrument manufacturers, London [Item nos: 50-51]


• Invoices for specimens from Yorkshire Pathological Laboratory [Item nos: 18, 92, 189, 266, 344]


• Receipts from the Bacteriological Laboratory at the Leeds School of Medicine for tests conducted


• Receipts from Sharp & Smith, surgical and veterinary instrument suppliers, Chicago, 25 Sep 1924 [Item nos:174, 244]


• Receipt from the proprietors of the British Medical Journal for illustrations for an article on cholelithiasis, dated 28 Feb 1925 [Item no: 325]
